Ok. I see what you're saying now. The other reason for the
get_file_attribute (I hate to be defending this in any way since it's
not my code) is, I think, to be able to set the "symlink" flag so that
we don't have to rely on the system attribute. But that is not
happening in symlink_info::check. Maybe I accidentally deleted it at
some point.
So, you're right. Go ahead and delete this.

Yeah. I think I like that better. Are these flags only used in the
case of has_acls () && allow_ntea?
