Etienne, you don't say how you compiled or linked your example. If the
shared library code is in shared.cpp and the main code is in main.cpp,
then you can build the example with:-
$ g++ -g -shared -o shared.dll shared.cpp
$ g++ -g -o mytest main.cpp -L. -lshared
When I do this, and run the program, I get:
$ ./mytest
Invalid Argument
.. as expected. No core dump. So, the problem may be that you have made
a mistake in your compile/link commands, or maybe you have an
out-of-date cygwin/gcc/binutils installation. I am using:
cygwin 1.3.22-1
gcc 3.2-3
binutils 20030307-1
